Reading Log
Wuthering Height's is a very confusing novel. I'm not really sure what is happing or where the plot will take me. When someone told me what the book was about I thought it would be a more modern book, I was way off it is placed in the 1800's. I know nothing about that period which makes me clueless the they talk. It is going to awhile to get thought this book.

Notes 2 and 3
Note 2
The movie Pirates of the Caribbean: at World’s End, Will Turner, a pirate, asks Elizabeth Swann to marry him during a battle that could be the end of them both. In this scene the raging sea, violent rain, and the clashing of swords depict a sense of urgency, and passion for the two to unite as one. Will and Elizabeth move around the ship as if they were dance partners. The two throughout the battle clutch on to each other like long lost lovers, afraid they will disappear if they let go. The gentle music is fighting the crashing waves and pounding rain to be heard amongst the chaos much like Will and Elizabeth’s love for one another. Although the two are fighting for their life their facial expressions are those of a child on Christmas morning, ready to become one. Finally the kiss comes the music takes the control drowning out the rain, and sea, Will and Elizabeth appear to be in a bubble unaffected by the disorder around them. Ending the scene with the once gentle music turning into music filled with power and passion, the rain going from violent to peaceful, leaving the characters in unaltered moment.
Note 3
In the Classic 80’s movie Dirty Dancing, the movie Baby goes to confront her father, the man she loves most in the world. The deck that her father calmly sits at listening to the chirp of birds, and the calmness of the water presents an airy peaceful mood which contrast the emotion given off by Baby. The only sound heard are the footsteps hitting the floor building the suspense to what will happen. Baby acting as the parent telling her father how he disappointed and lied to her. The emotion Baby gives off during her monologue are raw, she transition from frustration to sadness. Her Father realize that he hurt is daughter who is crying and the slight twitch of his lips, and glossed over eyes shows he’s about to cry too. Baby begins to walk away and the faint howl of an owl depicts the ending of trust. All that’s left is the Father sitting alone listening to the crows call knowing the end of the once strong relationship with Baby being lost with the crows.

Catching Fire
I finished it, it left me screaming and frustrated, and I can't wait to read the last book. I don't want to say anything specific because so many people are reading it. I will say that it had the same intensity as the first one and I loved the new characters brought in.

Note 1
In Ally Carter’s Heist Society, a teenage girl joins the family business of being a thief, when she realizes what it means to be a thief. Carter’s diction is simply common yet conversational conveying a relaxed playfulness. Deflating the common belief that thieves want everything Carter writes “thieves aren’t supposed to want too much” which is ironic but completely true. Thieves can only want as much as they can get up and walk away from. Thieves are constantly moving and changing if you don’t want to be caught. Carter keeps a teasing tone using stereotypical images of thieves such as “No gloves?” and a response of “Not on my day off.” Even though the laws of thieves are to not want too much Kat, the main character, realizes “no thief is ever supposed to love anything as much as she loved him” him being her father. Carter thought the story has plain diction that puts meaning behind simple words.

Exercise 2
(6) "Once Upon a cruddy time on a cruddy street on the side of a cruddy hill..." and as shown, it is hugely emphasized that her life is "cruddy" through her silly and unbelievable repetition of the word.
(4)The author enhances the stress by throwing the reader straight into the action.
(1)Barry comes across as a bitter woman with the constant negative and degrading word diction saying "Roberta was writing the cruddy book of her cruddy life."

Reading goals
I'm reading Catching Fire which is the second hunger games book and I couldn't put it down. I read the first one a year ago when first came out and loved it but it was intense so I was deciding whether to finish the series or not, which inspired one of my goals:
1. Read 3 complete series (Hunger Games being one of them)
2.Try and read 1,500 pages
3. Find at least five different reading spots around my neighborhood

Anthology: Theme Statement
I had a hard time coming up with a theme, because I wanted to do something unique but doable, and a came up with thieves, theft, and stealing . Which is all the same idea just different forms, and its theft in general.
One is a poem called Redemption, which mentions thieves.
Another is a exercpt from a fiction novel called Hiest Society, which is all about thieves and cons.
This topic is narrow but it works because it can be taken in a lot of directions.

Frankenstein
Frankenstein is not my favorite school book that would be To Kill a Mockingbird but it's not the worst either which is The Red Badge of Courage. It is slower read at times but it can make me very angry. Right after Victor makes the creature and runs off and sees Henry and comes back and the creature is gone he is joyous an I am thinking a creature is running the streets and jumping for joy great. Then he has the nerve to say Justine is in less suffer than him and she is about to get executed. Seriously!?!? And top it off when the creature says "I will see you on your wedding night."Victor is like oh no he is going to kill me and I'm screaming no you selfish idiot he is going to kill a Elizabeth. Victor plain out infuriates me!

Beautiful Creatures
From what the back says I thought it was going to by a streotypical vampire/werewolve book, and I'm excited to say I have not read about any vampire or werewolve. Their is a girl who is known as a "Caster" which is pretty much a witch. The story doesn't revolve around her being a witch it more of revolves around the boy and his past during the civil warr and it relates to her. They have some strange bond that they can't explain. It is very thriller and it is different then very thing else that is out right now. Which is refreshing.

Blog Assignment
1) Reading, Reflecting, and more Reading:"A threatening soundtrack in the trailer to Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close creates the Jumanji atmosphere of helpless terror."
Books and Stuff:"The term “mental illness” conjures up images of degradation, impoverishment, unhappiness, frenzy and chaos. In this beautiful collection of gripping photos, Christopher Payne catalogs the decay of state mental hospitals across the country."
2) "I've always wondered what it is about beaches that everybody (including myself), loves." It is not really a claim and it is more personal.
"This song is that song you want to listen to over and over because it makes you think, realize, and feel amazing things. "You are more than the choices that you've made, you are more than the sum of your past mistakes, you are more than the problems you create, you've been remade," these lyrics are my favorite. " It's more informative and not so much analytical.

Sub 4 Pirates and the Caribbean
Set in the 16th century were pirates are despised and Will Turner, a humble black smith’s assistant, doesn’t realize his whole life is connected to pirates but when he runs into one his whole life is changed. Will Turner comes back to his work after dropping off a sword he finds a pirate in his workshop, the infamous Captain Jack Sparrow, and the swashbuckling begins there, as the two get into an intense sword fight not realizing how good either of them is.
The Will Turner and Captain Jack Sparrow are circling each other like worst enemies going in for a fight, waiting to see who will take the first move. Captain Jack takes the first move, starting the quick jabs, back and forth, similar to a professional swordsman teaches a pupil. Captain Jack thinks it is over but he is wrong Turner keeps going, he loses his sword, he grabs a new one of the flame. It glows orange and every time it connects with Jack’s sparks fly making the appearance of fireworks. The two metals hit creating a searing screech on every connection. All the movements are taking with grace and dignity appearing like a well choreographed dance. The two fight not like enemies but dance partners. The music and Will and Jacks facial expression add an extreme intensity to the whole scene. You expect the scene to end with a dramatic sword slash. It all changes pace Jack cheats pulling a gun but a single glass shatter over the head by a drunken ends it all. The intense tone and organized chaos ends as quickly as it starts.

Short List 3
Pirates of the Caribbean- the First Pirates of the Caribbean has an amazing sword fighting scene between Will Turner and Captain Jack Sparrow. The fast pace and witty commentary adds an intense hilarity.
Dear blank please blank it is one of my favorite websites it is people writing letters to other people or famous people even objects like this one Dear Parents, Thanks for giving me such a weird name. Sincerely, My Name Is Never On Those Customized Key chains. They are just funny little letters.
If I die young by The Band Perry it is always stuck in my head, and part of that is it reminds me so much of the Virgin Suicides because the song goes along with the theme of dying young especially the line "a penny for my thoughts oh no I'll sell them for dollar since they are worth so much now that I'm a goner" because the book is about what the girls did and said while they were alive.
Middle School
The American Life goes in to the depths of Middle School, place where life is great and carefree, and place for others that they dread and try to forget about once they are there. Two completely different segments, one dances, the other on a Mexican- American family dealt with struggles. Dances, the nerves that come with it and the stress, will it make your social status go up or now will you be the next story for a couple of weeks. Boys and girls alike nervous about if they should ask someone or say yes or no to someone asking. The idea that they are dating for 20 minutes and they have an off and on relationship, only in middle school does this work. Middle school relationship destined for failure due to no middle school sweetheart. The idea of this mini adulthood that lies with in the world of middle school and they are trying to survive it.
The American Life travels with an Mexican American family, and how the two sisters in the family changed they looked, how they talked, and what they did. The whole family thought their changed made them seem higher on the social ladder. They thought the sisters made their lives better but it was all an illusion a way to avoid the fact that they were way worse off then they thought. The illusion was gone the summer they had to work in the fields harvesting, the sisters realised nothing was going to get handed on a silver platter. They dropped the act and went moving on with middle school life. But in that one summer they learned more than in a whole year about life.

Baby
Lost and Found, a christian band but before you judge, there is one song that is better than half the stuff on the radio, It's called Baby. It's main message is that their are people in this world that are different and don't know their loved.
Using the single guiter it adds a serious, sad, but beautiful tone. It is relatable because one of the verses is
Using the single guiter it adds a serious, sad, but beautiful tone. It is relatable because one of the verses is
Eighty pounds, she's hardly whole,
Losing her body to gain some control,
Hours alone in a tanning salon,
Trying a smaller and smaller size on.
And nobody calls her baby,
Nobody says "I love you so,"
Nobody calls her baby,
I guess she'll never know.
Losing her body to gain some control,
Hours alone in a tanning salon,
Trying a smaller and smaller size on.
And nobody calls her baby,
Nobody says "I love you so,"
Nobody calls her baby,
I guess she'll never know.
Which is a common thing nowadays with people saing you need to be skinny to be happy. It is a song that is very eye open to the world around you. Each verse targets a different type of person leaving a empathic tone. It forces you to look at the world differently. Sorry I don't know how to get a song on here if you want to hear it type in Baby by Lost and Found, and you will find it, I hope you do look it up it will be worth it.
Beautiful Creatures
I tried finishing Dart League King but it was too slow for me to keep reading but I found a book that looked interesting Beautiful Creatures, the cover it's self caught my attention with the cool script like font and the grey spooky trees it remindered me a little like the theme/name of my blog.
Getting to the point of a book where no matter how hard ypu try you can't put the book down, all thougths revalve around that book, it is screaming read me and you just have to finish it. I live for that feeling and In Beautiful Creatures I'm still waiting for that point. The book's describtion was very vague which drew me to it more and I wanted to know more. All I know for sure is there is girl, some supernatural powers, and curse. It is every different because I am not used to reading a book in a guys point of view so it is a whole different thing for me, but I like the change.

Organized Chaos
An over organized sequence, the little chaos in life organized, plain and simple. Looking at the photos the person is like a person with OCD everything in rows by size and color. Nothing out of place and everything united with its sisters. It looks as if they can take the confusion out of life and make it easy to understand. They can take every little detail and organize it , whether it is toys in a sandboxes or the polka dots on a bowl. He takes the impossible or crazy and puts it in order and makes it fit the sequence that was created.

I've come to the conclusion that if I had to pick one website, I would pick The Burning House. By the title, I'm sure you could guess what the website is about. These people submit a picture of the items they would carry with them, along with a list, their name, and where they're from. Most of these people claim that they would take their cameras, phones, some old vintage clothes or sunglasses, or their laptops. Personally, if I posted on this website, my dog, phone, and blanket and probably a few good books would be in the picture. When someone asks another person what they would bring, the normal answer is "my phone, computer, camera, clothes, etc." But if you put some thought into this, your answer may be different. I'd bring what is most important to me, like I said earlier, my dog. He'd be the first thing I'd try to save(:
If your house was burning to the ground, what would you bring?
I feel like the person could have described how the objects described the person itself. The writer could have found an example and gone into some depth of what the person brought and how that reflect the person. For example if someone had a camera, paper, colored pencils, paintbrushes you could infer they are artistic, or a creative person. They could have taken couple of different people, and compared them and infer what each item they brought represents. I do like the sentence "When someone asks another person what they would bring, the normal answer is "my phone, computer, camera, clothes, etc." But if you put some thought into this, your answer may be different. ' I feel like that sentence should have been the conclusion and then end with the question, and that would have had a better effect on the reader.

Monet
Monet did the Water Lily pond in every season, different angles and altered colors. With each one he made unique and almost a different place. The way the trees hang low, the water lilies float and the bridge arches illustrates a tranquil place where you can sit outside all day and read a book. Monet depicts this beautiful place where you would see people taking walks or first loves sharing a kiss. It’s a place that once you see it you always remember it and wish you could go back.

Dart League King
I just finished reading The Virgin Suicides which was amazing especially If you are into darker books, and not the very lives happily ever after.
So I just started reading The Dart League King after I saw Mr. Hills book trailer it got me intrigued. So I decided I would give it a shot. So far it's not to bad it can be confusing and it drops the f bomb a lot but it is pretty interesting. Every chapter is from a different characters point of view which is pretty cool. There is a lot of detail and emotions that happen which I personally love. Bu the best part to me is that there are a lot of back stories which I love cause it adds suspense and mystery which I'm into. I need to get back to reading it!

Looking Through Other's Eyes
Looking at other peoples blogs was interesting, I got to see what others thought about some books I have read and books I may read in the future.
http://vivirsonarleer.blogspot.com/
I loved how the made me what to read Pride and Prejudice and when they said "Jane Austen filled this novel with a twisting plot, unexpected events, and social commentary of social class and the human institution of marriage itself." I was thinking I would love this book and I now want to read, which is amazing.
http://2eluce.blogspot.com/
I liked this one too, because the way they described they work was awesome, they gave enough information without spoiling the whole thing. And made me think of things in a new way like the sentence "The common knowledge of left and right, which a lot of five year old children have yet to learn, save his Mas life from Old Nick. " I never thought that a simple left or right could save a life.
http://voidthosethoughts.blogspot.com/
There Dead Poet's Society was enchanting, They described with perfect the scene I saw, the claim was my favorite part "The opening of Peter Wier's 1989 film Dead Poets Society is almost solemn, filled to the brim with he apearance of strict rules, tradition of old, and young tears." It maybe a little simple, but simple can be more powerful, and in this instant it is. They have dead on that solemn feeling, and I felt that but didn't know how to say it. The worlds they used weren't huge words no one knows but simple ones used in a different way. Judge did an great job describing the opening scene of Dead Poet's Society.

The Virgin Suicides part 2
The Virgin Suicide. Four girls stuck in a house so months, it is horrible. After the First and youngest daughter died the mom slowly got overly protective. When parent get over protective kids do stupid things, just in spite of them. Keep four girls in a over protective house, never allowed to leave. I would die. I an only imagine what these girls are planning, and they have made the first real contact with the boys telling the story. It is getting good. This book is so good and thrilling. I would suggest this book to anyone.
Oh Captain, My Captain
In Dead Poet’s Society the dark colors and abrupt sounds depicts a serious bleakness to what is happening. All the boys are dressed in a uniform and standing tall with a prestigious demeanor, ready to continue their studies at the rigorous private school. The boys have a stoic expression as if they are not ready to give up their freedom when they enter the school doors. With the little light coming in through the church-like building, the dull red, neutral tones, and the loud voice echoing against the walls it all leaves an ominous tone in the room. As they leave the church building all you hear is the faint sound of talking that is masked by the loud church bell ringing in a depressing tune. The tune that tells the boys to say there last goodbyes to parents and freedom.

The Virgin Suicides
Five sisters commit suicide in the same year. The thing that makes this novel unique is that the whole story is told from some boys who were fascinated by these girls. The fact that you don't know what is going on in the sisters heads, and house, is annoying but thrilling. The fact that you only know what other people saw or heard and told the boys is crazy. It makes me went to get to the end so I can know what happened and why they it did. The book tells you straight off that the girls commit suicide but not how or why and they go through the whole year and what happened. You can tell the boys telling the story really care about these girls and their story fascinates them. It is an amazing book it keeps you reading it until the end.

Adventures in a Book
When I was younger, I hated to read, despised it. Going in to 6th grade, I never read outside of school. Then we read the Westing Game, that book was interesting, suspenseful, and easy to understand. I then started going to the library and I would get one or two books and slowly read them. 8th grade I discovered Twilight and I was addicted. I loved the feeling that you cannot stop reading until you find out what happens next, the feeling like you know each character. I read the 500 page book in two days I had never done that. I then would go to the library and get six books at one time and read them all in a week. Beg my mom to take me back and get six new ones. I began to love the adventure you got from a book, the understanding of situation I had never been in. The description of how it felt to lose someone you loved. I discovered the magic of Harry Potter that was five times greater than the effects of the movie. At the end of 8th grade I found out why people loved books and reading, it was an adventure without living your home, or friends behind. After I read over half the books in the library I began to reread books, and discover things I missed the first time. That’s the beauty of books you can reread them and the magic of them never goes away it stays and builds. You discover which authors you love and which you stay away from. You get to a point where you have read so many books you cannot remember half of them but you don’t care because you can always reread it and rediscover it. All my high school life I have not stopped reading, I always find the time to keep reading and keep the adventure going.
